Anti-Doping Forum 2009, Berlin

Berlin, 2009

The fight against doping – is it a losing battle? The realities of doping and the position of the major players in the sports business

Despite all efforts of the stakeholders in the fight against doping, the problem is more current than ever. The production and distribution of forbidden substances appears to be carrying on as before, positive tests and unbelievable records are shaking confidence in a fair sport. How do the media, the sporting goods industry and the politicians position themselves? How can we succeed in maintaining top class sports as a positive component of our society? Seminar participants discussed these and other questions relating to doping with representatives from politics, the sporting goods industry, WADA, research and the media, as well as with a former member of the “scene”, at the 4th Anti-Doping Forum, which Martens Rechtsanwälte organised in November 2009 in Berlin.
